when he figured out that he'll get some kind of achievement upon catching all four formes of oricorio, he figured he should jump straight back to the safari zone. he already had one anyways, so just getting an additional three should be make this task a bit easier.

changing an oricorio's form was easy enough. he's pretty sure he can buy one of those things that change it in a supermarket, and if not, he can always rely on the internet. other regions still ship to hoenn despite how much of a lost cause it is after all.

he ponders about the fourth pokemon, but the answer will come to him sooner or later, he supposed.

everything was pink and it was easy to mix every wild pokemon in the safari zone up. the shellos was so small too compared to the pokemon he's used to facing.

the mightyena growls at it, as if wanting to sink his fangs and make it a chew toy. kyle whistles to distract it from its thoughts and continues to move forward, ignoring the pokemon entirely.

they find one of the oricorios soon after skipping the shellos. it's fat, and unable to escape a mightyena easily. kyle only needs to whistle and point at it for him to get the desired outcome without much talking required.

his mightyena's ears perk at the hint of a bird hunt. as soon as it sees it, it goes to a frenzied run and chases after the oricorio. it lunges at it before it can bring its bird body up to the skies, dragging it back to the earth with its teeth.

kyle tosses a pokeball at it, and before even checking if it clicks, he already scans the area around him in search for another one of them.

a second shellos comes passing by like nothing has happened to the oricorio that went before it. it looks so similar to the last one that kyle wonders if it's the same.

he shakes his head, dismissing the chances of such coincidence happening.

they're so easy to spot compared to any other pokemon in the safari zone that kyle wonders why he doesn't see just a whole flock of them wandering around. big, fat birds that his mightyena can easily swoop in and grab, which is what he sees his pokemon do as soon as he speaks up.

the dark-type runs at it at full speed, with only a pounce to break the acceleration. it bowls over the poor oricorio, with teeth trying to incapacitate it. the wild pokemon tries to wriggle out, but the crunch wasn't letting go.

kyle tosses a pokeball at it, and before even checking if it clicks, he already scans the area around him in search for another one of them.

he sees a small... thing. it reminds kyle of a little turd that people usually leave on the dog park. such garbage deserve to be immolated for the trash that they are.

kyle doesn't have to say anything for his mightyena to get the message.

the dark-type lunges at it, maws catching it whole in between rows of teeth. they've been told killing isn't allowed in the safari zone, so they're left with the next best thing, which is to leave it unconscious.

fortunately for the wild pokemon, it happens soon.

"fine. next!" he says as he leaves the discarded piece of psychic-type behind.

he sees a horse next. he already has this kind of horse, and kyle isn't sure if he needs another. maybe if he goes horseback riding with noah in the future, but he doesn't see any realistic scenario where he'd do that than something else.

with no intent to get the horse as opposed to another pokemon, he turns around and leaves it be. he whistles when he hears his mightyena start to scuffle about, stopping them from whatever they're planning.

it's the last one that he needs, and then maybe he can finally go look for something that might have value in the market. not that he actually sells pokemon to the black market though, since that is morally wrong.

he whistles for the attention of his pokemon, who quickly notices the subject of their trainer's sights. this was already their fourth bird of the day, and the mightyena already knows what has to be done.

the dark-type pounces at it again, crunch threatening to end the life of the oricorio since the safari warden have unfortunately fed them nectar that makes them weak to it. not that it matters, since the mightyena would've bitten it as much as it can to get it fainted.

kyle throws a pokeball at it since it's already close to death. he didn't kill this bird.
